Aaron Carter Messes with the IRS

Aaron Carter must not have heard the old saying: Don't mess with the IRS.

The Dancing with the Stars reject owes more than $1 million in back taxes.

According to the legal papers filed by the Internal Revenue Service, Nick's little bro — who was voted off the ABC dance show last week — owes a total of $1,010,635.08 to the U.S. government.

The unpaid amounts date back to 2003 — when he was dating both Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff.

Too many bouquets of flowers and boxes of chocolates for the ladies?

His manager says his client is trying to remedy the $ituation — stat.

"It is unfortunate that while Aaron was a minor, his finances were grossly mismanaged by his previous team which has lead to the current situation of which he was unaware of until today," Johnny Wright told Entertainment Tonight. "Aaron is working with a new team to take appropriate actions towards speedy resolution of the matter and looks forward to putting this behind him and moving forward with the next stage of his music career."
