Adam Lambert: I'm Not A Babysitter!
No GMA? No problem!
After Good Morning America canceled Adam Lambert's performance — following the American Music Awards brouhaha — the American Idol alum was snatched up by the Early Show. He sat down with cohost Maggie Rodriguez this morning to talk about his racy act at Sunday's award show — during which he simulated oral sex with a male dancer, kissed his male bandmate, grabbed his crotch and flipped off the crowd.
"I worked really hard with my dancers and my band for about two weeks putting that [performance] together," Adam said. "And, I admit I did get carried away, but I don't see anything wrong with it. I do see how people got offended, and that was not my intention. My intention was just to interpret the lyrics of my song and have a good time up there."
That said, he said that he's "not a babysitter, I'm a performer." He noted that his performance aired at almost 11pm and it wasn't the only questionable moment of the night, noting that Lady Gaga broke whiskey bottles, Eminem made a joke about rape and Janet Jackson fondled a dancer's crotch.
"If it were a female pop performer that were doing the moves that were on the stage, I don't think there'd be nearly as much outrage at all," he said. Adding: "I think it's because I'm a gay male. It's a double whammy."
After the AMAs aired on the East Coast, Adam's performance was edited for West Coast watchers. A source told Star that ABC, which aired the show, was flooded with calls from angry viewers following the broadcast and that led to the network canceling his appearance on GMA.
"GMA is doing great in the ratings and the show would jeopardize possibly losing viewers to Today if Adam pulled a stunt like he did over the weekend," a source told Star.
Adam's solo debut album, For Your Entertainment, went on sale Monday.

Hahahaha. You all can voice your opinions but in the end they dont matter.Adam your talented and a great guy, but what you do in your personal life is your buss. When you go on national t.v. and do what you did thats not right,not everyone wants to see that shit.

my comment is this the commmercial for much more "love sex and magic is far worse as far as i'm concered it is on at prime time. girls shaking their little breasts with not much of a covering, one with someone holding them down and the girl spreading her legs with a guy sitting right in front of her. my oppion is that madonna is a much bigger slut than adam will ever be. i'm a 53 year old woman who is married.

Adam I really liked you on American Idol but this was a little too much! Sorry but it does not matter if you are gay or not, that was over the top. Too bad because now I would not waste my money bying your CD even though I know you have talent. That was a turn off for me and I'm sure that I'm not the only one.
