Exclusive: American Idol's Biggest Scandal Ever

February 5, 2009

Talk about having a competitive edge! American Idol contestant Joanna Pacitti has superclose ties to not one but two American Idol execs.

In the Feb.16 issue of Star — on sale now — we report that the Season 8 contestant is no newcomer to the business, having released a major label album in 2006, starred in a MTV documentary, opened for Sheryl Crow and having her songs featured in movies and TV shows, including The Hills. But that's nothing compared to her connection to two executives at the L.A. offices of 19 Entertainment — the company that produces Idol.

An insider tells Star that Michelle Young and Roger Widynowski have very personal connections to the Idol hopeful, all of which we detail in our can't miss story. How personal? Well, Joanna has referred to Michelle as her "manager" and "best friend," and credited Roger with "helping me get where I am today." Plus, the three of them even lived in the same L.A. apartment complex for several years.

Having two ins with Idol's production company could give the 24-year-old wannabe star — seen as a shoo-in for the final 36 — an advantage that the rest of the contestants don't have.

"It really seems unfair," an insider tells Star.

For all of the details in what promises to be the nastiest controversy in the hit series' history, pick up Star today for the full story.

OOP's somebody goofed. It dosn't matter who makes it. Some of those that try to get on are just goofy and can't make it anywhere, a real joke.

I didn't care for Jordan Sparks so it made no difference to me. No she isn't the super star she probably wants to be. At least she had a chance. It's up to her now. Me I didn't buy her CD.

My favorite contestances were Clay Aiken, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry, David Cook, and a few others. I like Adam and Danny this year.

I think AI is on it's last leg anyway.. at least she didn't get caught with her panties around her ankles, who really gives a SH!+ if she knows someone.. they are not voting are they.?
-- Slimjim

get over it people the only way to get anywhere in the world in any field of work/career/hobby is by WHO you know.We all know deep down that is how it works just like we all know that AI is so fake and scripted, right from the get go.if you don't like what they did get used to it .

The contest is a joke...most of the winners turn out to be flops...nothing more than a fraud...

I was under the impression that AI was for amateurs only. Did she get paid for her record deal, for opening for Sheryl Crow and for having her songs featured in movies and TV shows? If she did, that makes her a professional which makes her ineligible anyway.

Why is Joanna Pacitti disqualified for her affiliations but, Jordan Spark wasn't for hers? Jordan Sparks is the the half sister of Cuba Gooding Jr. (actor) and the daughter of Cuba Gooding Sr. singer of 1970's music group The Main Ingredient. Her dad was also a music producer and promoter.

What's fair about Sparks getting to stay but Joanna Pacitti having to go? Who makes these decisions. Ooops.. did I let the cat out of the bag? Yes Jordan Sparks is related to industry's Cuba Gooding Jr. and Cuba Gooding Sr. -She should have been disqualified too.

what does it matter? when is it a bad thing to try and better yourself? so she knows people, most of the time you have to to get anywhere in this world!

Typical idol crap. The whole show is scripted and unfair. Look what Paula did last year. People wake up snd see its not real. In the end the producers pick who they want to go on.
-- Julie

Carrie Underwood had a record deal before she did the show and none of you are calling her out...
