Anthony Edwards Returns to ER for Final Season
Anthony Edwards will be scrubbing back in on ER. Is George Clooney next?
Although beloved Dr. Mark Greene died of a brain tumor in 2002, Anthony — an original cast member — has inked a deal to reprise his popular role for the Nov. 13 episode, reports TVGuide.com. Mark will appear in several flashback scenes that will be tied to Angela Bassett's character, Cate Banfield.
For its final season — it's fifteenth on the air — the show hopes to bring back some familiar faces as a treat for longtime fans. Noah Wyle (Dr. John Carter) has already been tapped to return in one of the final episodes.
So far they haven't snagged George Clooney, who hit it big playing Dr. Greene's best pal, Dr. Doug Ross, on the show and has gone on to a celebrated film career. (Can you say Oscar winner?) In 1998, George shocked viewers when he made a top secret guest appearance on the show for the last episode of departing cast member Julianna Margulies. In the show's final scene, Julianna's character, Nurse Carol Hathaway, flew to Seattle for a reunion with George's Doug, her former lover and literally swept her off her feet.

Doug and Carol did not attend Mark's funeral , who wants to see them again! I was so let down with the way the show has been going , down hill !!!

I would love to see George Clooney back on ER, especially since it is the last season. Plus he is so HOT! I also can't wait to see the other original cast members come back to the show, for one last time.

I loooooove ER i cant wait but I'm also very sad that this the final season i'll still be watching the reruns i've seen mark die so many times. im sure they'll try and get doug in there somewhere it'll be great to see them all together again. Angela Bassett's a great actress shes really gonna bring some more flavor to the show.

that would be great to see the old cast but why is it that they are takeing all the old show's off the air? there is no more 7th heaven an now er is soon goin to be gone too whats next?
