Blind Date

What's it about: An estranged couple tries to recapture the love in their marriage after the death of their child.
Have we met?: Their method is to act out a series of blind dates, in which they pretend not to know each other and to be different people. The role-playing is meant to help them get past the sorrow that has driven them apart. But in this movingly simple story, which has a number of very funny moments, one of them always makes a mistake - and then they have to start over. Tucci ("Julie & Julia") directed as well as starring. Together, he and Clarkson ("Whatever Works") have near-perfect pitch for the shifting emotions and the tricky tango that these two dance every night.
Long story short: The ending will bowl you over.
