Britney's Parents Fear For Her!

February 7, 2008

Britney Spears' parents are not happy she was released from the UCLA Medical Center where she was receiving psychiatric treatment on Wednesday.

"As parents of an adult child in the throws of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe. We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk," said Jamie and Lynne spears in a joint statement. "There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."

Britney, for her part, seemed to be enjoying her new found freedom from the psych ward. The pop wreck, flanked my hoards of paparazzi, spent much of Wednesday bouncing around L.A. — speeding off with one paparazzi pal, getting a room at the Beverly Hills Hotel and visiting with lawyer Adam Streisand.

After leaving her lawyer's office, Britney and her shutterbug beau Adnan Ghalib reportedly visited a restuaruant in the Valley, before being driven back to the 26-year-old singer's Summit house, where they met up with her parents Jamie and Lynne.
