Judge Gives Britney's Dad Permanent Control of Her Affairs

October 28, 2008

Britney Spears' life will be run by her father, Jamie Spears, until further notice.

At a hearing today at L.A. Superior Court, Judge Reva Goetz approved Jamie’'s lawyer's request to have temporary conservatorship over the pop princess and her affairs made permanent, and Britney, 26, raised no objection.

The judge felt that rather than lawyers continually coming back to court every few months to extend the temporary conservatorship order, it made more sense to make the order permanent with the option of it being lifted in the future if Britney's circumstances change.

Britney's medical team will continue to evaluate her condition on an ongoing basis. Jamie will oversee Britney's career and business affairs.

Judge Goetz said, "The conservatorship is necessary and appropriate for the complexities of financial and business entities and her being susceptible to outside influences."

Britney is scheduled to launch a major concert tour early next year.

In California, the kind of conservatorship Britney is on is good for a period of one year. She can actually contest after 6 months. At the end of that year, from the appointment date, two California licensed physicians, one being a psychiatrist, must complete paperwork to petition the court for renewal if they feel it continues to be necessary. It is the job of the conservator, her father, to initiate and make sure all this is done. He is responsible to the court. It is not an easy job and heaven help him if he screws up. Particularly since this case is under the public microscope.

That SUCKS! Boy is she really going to hate her fatjer when she wakes up out of all this stooper and realizes her dad screwed her over taking EVERYTHING she's got! My mother did the same thing to me when they divorced, i got pulled out of school at a young age to work 2 jobs and have it all be taken by my mother accept for 10 bucks a week. I still do not talk to my mother, my sister called said mom was in the hospital from a car accident, i told her i didn't care and hung up on her.

The only reason Britney is doing alot better now, is that someone, her father, has taken on the responsibilty of stearing her in the right directions and curbing her bizzare spending. I thought her mother was not looking out for her interest, except for her granchildren. She was a young celebrity that could not handle her wealth responsibly. In time I feel she may gain it back. That would be under the old saying, "older but wiser".
