Britney: "What the Hell Was I Thinking?"
Britney Spears is going primetime to set the record straight.
As the Dec. 2 release of her new album approaches, Brit is opening up -- on her terms. The pop tart has joined forces with MTV for a 90-minute documentary about her return to the music spotlight.
"So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there's a lot that people don't know about me that I want them to know," Brit told MTV News about the special. "I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed."
Britney also talks about the mistakes the world watched her make. "I sit there and I look back," she says, before asking rhetorically: "I'm a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?"
The documentary will include personal stories with behind-the-scenes footage of her in the recording studio and going to rehearsals, press tours and the video shoot for her single "Womanizer." There will even been footage of a recent visit she made to her hometown of Kentwood, La.
Tentatively titled "For the Record," the special is set to air on November 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
Will you watch Britney's special? Talk back.

Yes I will watch it, I am so glad she is getting her life back together, you go girl!

If she has a mental illness, she cant really help that and I just hope she stays with her treatment. I will never forgive Michael Jackson or OJ Simpson. These are just two egomaniacal sociopaths that think they are untouchable. Good luck Brit!

Absolutely! I feel for her. There are many women who suffer from mental illness (possible form result of post-pardom depression?). She is a regualr person who loves her babies but was led astray and lost her path. Why should we not give her a chance to tell her story when we've given a lot of time to papers and magazines for telling it? I Support Britney on her road to strength, personal enlightenment and wellness.

Of course i'll watch the the special. I think that it's important for her to say this. I mean people aren't really forgiving her for her mistakes but yet they can forgive michael jackson or oj simpson?? I think thats extremely hypocritical and I believe she deserves a second chance.

I really hope she can keep it together this time. I've always liked her music even if it is more performing talent than singing talent. I feel bad for any of these girls that spent their lives growing up way too fast and with way too much money and free time on their hands. I am just happy she seems to be doing better this time.

I am just dying to hear what she has to say about these crazy mistakes she made. There is absolutely no explanation that I can think of. This is going to be interesting.

she is wasted away what are you talking about. shes a mess. she had problems because she wanted the attention from the media.

Im really happy for Brit, and i never liked her before when she first came out, and knew right away that she will end up like one of those celebrities that are wasted away. But once i looked closer before when she had problems with her kids, it hurt me right away even though they are not mine but can feel the pain, so keep it up!!!

PITIFUL!!! She needs to get over it and get a life. Maybe she should star on her own sitcom instead of horning in on others. She obviously sucks at making movies, and Brad..let him be. He's happy and I can understand why she cant find a man. He's a hard act to follow and all the guys probably feel inferior in her eyes. He met his match with Angelina, they are perfect in every way.

i can't wait to see this!!! In the past I've defended Britney, but I'm happy to hear that she is realizing her past actions and mistakes!! love you, brit
