Update: Bruce Springsteen Doesn't Deny Affair
Note: This story is an update to Exclusive: Bruce Springsteen Named As Other Man in Divorce Papers
Following Star's exclusive report that Bruce Springsteen was named the other man in divorce suit, The Boss isn't denying an affair — instead he's reaffirming his commitment to wife Patti Scialfa.
A rep for Bruce told New Jersey's Star Ledger that the singer stands by the statement he posted on his website in August 2006 — at a time the media reported he was allegedly having a different affair with a 9/11 widow.
The statement at the time said: "I hesitate to use this Web site for anything personal believing it should remain a place where fans of my music can come free of the distractions that occasionally arise with the rest of my job. However, due to the unfounded and ugly rumors that have appeared in the papers over the last few days, I felt they shouldn't pass without comment. Patti and I have been together for 18 years — the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married."
In the April 20 issue of Star we report that in divorce papers filed on March 27 in Monmouth County Superior Court, New Jersey businessman Arthur J. Kelly alleges that his wife of 17 years, Ann C. Kelly, "committed adultery with one Bruce Springsteen, who resides in Rumson, NJ, and Colts Neck, NJ, at various times and places too numerous to mention."
In addition to these two alleged affairs, published reports in 1988 claimed that Bruce cheated on then-wife Julianne Phillips with Patti -- then a backup singer in his band.

I think Bruce and Patti are very happy, and that they are meant for each other. I would like to believe that. Don't know about the other women and don't care. The only one to have an opinion about that is Patti.

WHAT DO YOU EXPECT PATTI!!!!!!!!!! HE WAS MARRIED WHEN YOU STEPPPED IN!!!!!!!!!

Don't compare Julianne Phillips to Patti - and don't speculate on someone's character when you have no clue.
Just go back to reporting about Brittany and the rest of the trash and leave the legends be. -- jersey girl 2
People make mistakes. We all want to be our best selves in the world because it's so much harder to be an outlaw. Think about your own lives: who wouldn't want a do-over?

Know what? Who knows, but him and "whomever." But, let's go back a bit--As far as the Julianne Philips business is concerned, she was as good as a tagged whore, she gave it up as soon as she met Springsten --for money --and married him for the same reason. He dumped her because she was a shallow-minded, frantic, money-spending bimbo and he paid her VERY well to get rid of her. She greedily slurped up the settlement money and she really didn't earn it,because-- she was a bimbo, fast-track wannabe who thought she hit paydirt -- and DID, which is more than she had before or since. Nobody could figure out what he saw in the bimbo anyway, honestly, she was so obviously an "I'll do it for cash" anybody's girl and she would've married anyone for it. There just were no takers until Springsteen made the mistake of banding the grubbing woman. Now, about Patti Scialfa and Springsteen A-- they ARE soulmates and, if there are some blips in the harmony, it's got a lot to do with the crazy, celeb lifestyle they live and the HOT hormones they generate, morally right or wrong. They will survive this. True or false about this rumor? Who knows. Unfortunately for women like Ann Kelly, it's a drag. She is a big girl. I. personally, tend to doubt the rumor, because we are talking about a high-profile man and tabloids love juice. There would've been loud buzz, in town here and all over -- and there wasn't. We would've heard something about it, here in town and all over the place...no noise, no local gossip, people, so I don't really believe there was more than (maybe) a dirty little flirt. That's all! :-)

I love Springsteen's music and have been a fan for many years. Unfortunately, he is a flawed human being like the rest of us. He did cheat on first wife Julianne Phillips and paid $20 million to keep her quiet. But then again what comes around goes around.

Ok none of us have lives seeing as though we are here reading about other peoples lives. Who are we to judge? They are the only ones who know what's REALY going on.

He cheated on Julianne Phillips what makes Patti and anyone else think he is going to keep his pants zipped, get real. Once a cheater always a cheater, and Patti should know, HE cheated with her.
