Vampire Diaries' Candice Accola on Ian Somerhalder: He's Cute to Kiss

Love bites! Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) learns that the hard way when she discovers that her boyfriend, Damon (played by Ian Somerhalder), is a sexy, sinister vampire. Together their killer chemistry has made The CW’s The Vampire Diaries a breakout hit. But things are even sunnier in the real world, where Candice, 22, is happily dating celebrity photographer Tyler Shields.

Star spoke with Candice about her troublemaking character and making out with the undead!

How do you describe Caroline?
She’s a real go-getter, a young woman who knows what she wants and doesn’t apologize for it. She’s really sassy too — and very naughty, which is what I love about playing her.

Are you two alike in that regard?
We’re both boy crazy, and we’re both girly girls!

Is Ian a good kisser?
He’s so cute to kiss — those days are fun on set. Ian is wonderful at his job.

Will anyone else die?
Where there are vampires there’s death, so yes! I honestly don’t know who’s next. The scripts keep us all on our toes!

Why are vampires so popular right now?
Vampires are alluring and sexy and eternally young — it’s all so extreme, fun and exciting. Especially now, with the economy in the dumps, it’s refreshing not to focus on realistic things and lose yourself in mystical characters.
