Cate Blanchett: Meet My New Baby!
Just six days after giving birth, Cate Blanchett introduced her new son to the world in Australia on Saturday. The Oscar-winning actress co-chaired a creativity brainstorming panel at the Australia 2020 forum in the capital city of Canberra. The new mother arrived with her youngest son, Ignatius, who was born April 13. While Prime Minister Kevin Rudd gave his opening address at the program, which is trying to bring artists and governments together, Ignatius quietly slept in a pouch in the arms of his father, Andrew Upton. But when he mother addressed the audience of about 100, the newborn made his presence known. "Oh, God, there goes the baby in the hallway," Cate laughed. Later she remarked, "It's a measure of my belief in the weekend that I'm here at all. As you could imagine, I would much rather be in bed." How do you feel about Cate debuting her baby at just six days old? Should she have left him at home? Is she a great example of a working mother — juggling her professional life with her personal life? Tell us what you think.
