Celebrity Feud: Etta James Vs. Beyoncé
Those are fighting words!
A few months back, Etta James had high praise for Beyoncé, who portrayed her in the film Cadillac Records. Today? Not so much.
During a concert in Seattle last week, the legendary singer blasted Jay-Z's wife for singing her signature song, "At Last," to Barack and Michelle Obama on inauguration night. The 71-year-old Etta also threatened to, um, beat up Beyoncé over the incident.
"You guys know your president, right? You know the one with the big ears?" Etta said during her rant. "Wait a minute, he ain't my president. He might be yours; he ain't my president. But I tell you that woman he had singing for him, singing my song — she's going to get her ass whipped.
"The great Beyoncé," Etta continued. "Like I said, she ain't mine... I can't stand Beyoncé. She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol' president day, gonna be singing my song that I've been singing forever."
This isn't the first time a music icon gave Beyonce a verbal smackdown. At last year's Grammy Awards, Aretha Franklin became angry with her when she introduced Tina Turner as "the queen," a title Aretha apparently has claimed as her own, and publicly blasted her about it.

i believe that she has the right to be a little upset about Beyonce singing her song because its her baby..its why people know her but she gave her permission i think she is off her rocker! she needs to take her medicine.

beyonce should've asked permission that's just a given. but etta should've been more of a lady about it. beyonce just needs to watch her words too cuz aretha done earned her queen title and beyonce aint no one to give that away
