BRIT'S FIRST FATHER-IN-LAW TALKS TO STAR!

Dennis Alexander was Britney Spears father-in-law for 48 hours when she wed his son, Jason Alexander, in a quickie Las Vegas ceremony on Jan. 3, 2004, that was annulled two days later.

Dennis spoke to Star about his former daughter-in-law's latest marriage meltdown!

ON BRITNEY AND KEVIN'S DIVORCE
"I knew they weren't going to last. They have nothing in common. Britney is very rebellious — she's always been that way. I'm sure she's going through a lot in her life."

ON BRITNEY AND JASON
"They would have made it if [people] hadn't put so much pressure on them to break up. They have so much in common. They grew up together and had a tight group of friends."

ON JASON AND KEVIN FEDERLINE'S EX, SHAR JACKSON
"They were going out a little as friends. I know they went to Magic Mountain a few times. They met one night when he was out and got to talking about stuff. Jason said, 'She's a cool lady.' But they were not dating. I think they are still friends."
