NEW YEAR'S REPORT: BRIT COLLAPSES!

Britney Spears is reportedly doing fine today despite her New Year's Eve collapse at Pure night club in Las Vegas early Monday morning! The pop princess, who was in town to host the New Year's Eve bash inside Sin City's posh club at Caesar's Palace, seemed in high spirits when she counted down the clock Sunday night, clutching a bottle of Dom Perignon, and shouting "Happy F***ing New Year" to the packed crowd at midnight.

But 45 minutes later, as Britney stood up from her VIP table, she fell into "a dead faint," according to sources at the club. Britney's bodyguards rushed her from the club, wrapping her in a hooded sweatshirt to hide her from the crowd. Her fainting spell wasn't noticed by throng of partiers. "So there was no sense of panic in the club," a source tells Star. Spears did not return for the rest of the evening.

But the newly single singer is doing just fine as of New Year's Day, her reps announced Monday. "She's fine," said Larry Rudolph, Spears' manager, in a statement to the Las Vegas Review Journal. "She had been traveling all day. She got real tired. It was a late night for her." Rudolph added that alcohol was not to blame, noting Britney "wasn't drinking that much."

Sources tell Star, however, that Britney did enjoy several cocktails before falling ill. Before heading to Pure, she attended a dinner at the Social House restaurant inside, Treasure Island hotel, with an entourage of 27 people. She nibbled on kobe beef and sushi while drinking sake. Once she arrived at Pure, Brit drank Grey Goose vodka and Dom Perignon champagne, said a source at the club. And at least one other report said Spears was seen mixing a rum and pineapple drink for herself.

Before her collapse, Britney looked stunning in a black sequin chloe gown with cartier jewels. "She looked beautiful," said a source at the club. "She was very happy and upbeat all through the evening, looking very happy and dancing. She was very chatty with her friends and even the hamming it up for the crowd." She rang in 2007 from the club's terrace, showing off her bottle of champagne and a large, crystal-encrusted cake. A fireworks display exploded behind her. Afterwards, she returned to her VIP table, where she sat with Jesse Metcalfe, Shannon Elizabeth and her dancers, among 20 other friends. Markedly absent, however, was her most recent hook-up, Arizona Cardinals football player Matt Leinart.
