EXPERT: BRIT'S NEW DOG AND KIDS DON'T MIX!
Forget her man-hopping — Britney Spears is now dog-hopping! The former mommy to Chihuahua's Bit-Bit, Lacy and Lucky was seen out January 11 with a brand new one — a $3,000 teacup apple-head Chihuahua named, for now, Snow White.
Now Chihuahua enthusiasts are crying foul! "I just shook my head in disbelief when I heard Britney walked into a pet store and paid more than $3,000 for a tiny Chihuahua," Carole Kriste, of Chihuahua Rescue and Transport, a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, adoption and medical care of stray and homeless Chihuahuas, tells Star. "Young girls look up to Britney and she should be more responsible and learn more about rescue. This past week alone, we received 15 calls from people around the Los Angeles area, who wanted to give up their Chihuahuas. For the money she spent, she could have helped many of them."
Could Britney have bought her dog because she feared an adoption agency wouldn't adopt one to her? "We don't generally adopt to households with small children and babies," Kriste admits. "In our experience, Chihuahuas and young children don't mix."
