Brit's Mom Comes to the Rescue!
Britney Spears' head-shaving scandal has apparently shocked her mother into making an emergency visit. On Saturday, Lynne Spears arrived in Los Angeles from Kentwood, no doubt bent on giving her daughter a serious talking to. Lynne gave an eyewitness the "thumbs up" when asked about Brit's condition.
But just 24 hours earlier, things were definitely thumbs down for the 25-year-old superstar. It all started on Friday when Britney showed up at the Body & Soul Tattoo in Sherman Oaks with her head completely shaved. She had just come from Esther's Haircutting Studio in Tarzana, California, where she had shaved her own scalp when the salon owner refused! (The owner, Esther Tognozzi, is now reportedly considering aucitoning Brit's mane on eBay for charity!)
"She said she was tired of having things plugged into it," said eyewitness Emily Wynne-Hughes, apparently referring to her hair extensions. "She looked distraught and disturbed."
Video on Los Angeles KABC-TV also shows the newly shorn Spears with a new tattoo on the back of her neck, and tattoo artist Max Gott reveals "she [also] got some cute little lips on her wrist."
Eyewitness Emily said Britney was "scatterbrained" and said she "wanted people to stop touching her." Another witness added Britney "looks like she's having an issue right now."
Indeed Brit's date with the hair trimmer comes just days after Britney checked into Eric Clapton's Crossroads center in Antigua, then checked out 24 hours later! Star also learned that following her runaway from rehab, Spears spent some time trying on clothes in a Bebe store in Miami, during which she left the dressing room curtain partially open and was apparently completely naked!
All of this comes after months of partying by newly single Spears. The pop princess filed for divorce from Kevin Federline on Nov. 7, 2006 citing irreconcilable differences. The couple have two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
Star told you, in our Feb. 5 issue, that Kevin wanted Brit to seek help. "Kevin has tried to convince Britney to check herself into rehab from every possible angle," a source told Star. "First, he tried threatening to take away the kids, then he tried pleading with her to take care of herself."
