Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman Turn a Texas Town Upside Down in Netflix’s ‘The Hunting Wives’
Like a Hallmark Christmas movie gone very wrong, this is the story of Sophie (Brittany Snow) who moves from the big city to small-town Texas. (Unlike in Hallmark movies, she already has a husband.) But instead of finding bliss in a candy-cane store or wreath workshop, she’s bored silly and gets drawn into the local clique of bad-girl housewives known as the Hunting Wives.
Their leader is Margot Banks (Malin Akerman), who makes Regina George look like Mother Teresa. They drink (a lot) and practice target shooting late into the night. But the high jinks come to a screeching halt when the body of a teenage girl is found in the woods. May Cobb’s scandalous page-turner is sure to be the new Big Little Lies.
