Sir Charles Busted for DUI

December 31, 2008

Charles Barkley is the most recent celebrity to be arrested for suspicion of drunk driving.

The NBA star turned sports commentator was stopped at around 1:30 am Wednesday morning after allegedly running a stop sign in Scottsdale, Arizona. Officers took him to a nearby mobile command post and, after he declined a breathalyzer test, was given a blood test. Pending the results, which normally take a week, he was cited for suspicion of DUI and released.

He left in a cab.

A police spokesperson told the Associated Press there was nothing remarkable about the arrest and that it is customary to release people after they've been arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Charles — who earned the nickname Sir Charles — was a standout player for Auburn before joining the NBA. He played 16 NBA seasons for Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets. In 2006 he was inducted in the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Since he retired he's been a sports commentator — he works with TNT for its coverage of NBA games — and recently announced his plans to run for Governor of Alabama in 2014.

Like he doesn't have enough money to pay for a limo to take him home! How pathetic & selfish of him to risk others by driving himself.

Wow, for someone who was put into the hall of fame and who so many people look up to, including the youth of this world who love the game of basketball, he sure set a FANTASTIC example! Why can't celebrities just get it through their heads that people watch them, and do what they do?

Give the man a break! Atleast he was honest ab the whole situation!
That may just make him average and if the media wasn't so far fetched in is life it wouldn't be a big deal! Now would it?

He is a disgrace! He bragged and gloated to all the officers that he was running that stop sign to get a blow job from a prostitute up the street. that had previously given him one the week before. He then went on to say, while he was in jail, that he would tatoo the name of the officer on his a**, who would get these charges dropped!!!!!
-- Dana

SEND HIM TO LOCK UP!!!!
