David Archuleta's Dad Banned From Idol Rehearsals
Stage parents have become a fixture in Hollywood. And now American Idol contestant David Archuleta can add his father to the list!
Jeff Archuleta has been banned from show rehearsals, the Associated Press has reported, as a result of his intense backstage involvement with his 17-year-old son.
Despite claims that Jeff's tough love had driven fresh-faced David to tears in the past, producers drew the line over a lyric change.
Jeff, a former Jazz musician, insisted upon altering "Stand by Me," one of the two songs David sang on the May 6 episode, by adding a verse from Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls." The substitute lyrics are said to have incurred additional costs for American Idol.
Will this controversy hurt David's chances at winning the competition? Tune in Tuesday when he and his fellow Idol contestants, David Cook and Syesha Mercado, perform in a bid for the final two spots.

His father should have been banned way back in the begining as it appears since the dad has been banned David seemed more at ease on Tuesdays show.

I prefer David Archuleta(DA) to be the next AI because DA has his own style/signature, voice & charismain in entertaining & rendering his every song. Cook is no unique. THere's a lot that performs same as his style and voice.
