Exclusive: Camp Rock's Demi Lovato's Reunion with Dad
Disney Channel's newest starlet Demi Lovato is being hailed as "the next Miley Cyrus." But reuniting with her father for the first time in four years has been an even bigger thrill for the Camp Rock star. Her loving dad shares the moment with Star in our July 7 issue.
"She'll always be 'my partner' — that's what we've always called each other," Patrick Lovato tells Star in an exclusive interview. "We have a special relationship that'll never change, no matter how big she becomes."
Patrick shares details about meeting Demi's mom, Dianna Hart, an ex-Dallas Cowboys cheerleader and country music singer, and how they married soon after and started a family in Texas. But their marriage ended in 1994, and after Patrick later moved to New Mexico and suffered some health problems, a wedge developed between him and Demi. For four years he didn't see his daughter until she made a surprise visit in February.
"I was at my dad's house when I heard a knock on the door, and he yelled out that someone wanted to see me," says Patrick. "I walked out of the bedroom — and there was Demi! I couldn't believe how beautiful she was.The first thing she said to me was, 'Hey, partner... I love you!' We threw our arms around each other and began to cry."

aww i think thats really good that you saw your dad demi. and where does it say that shes cutting, cuz i seriously dont belive that. Shes a good romodle, she wouldn't do that, and selena wouldnt let her do that! so just leave her alone! its probably just a rumor

I'm happy that Demi got to see her father again, and that they get along good. I feel so bad for Demi, that she has too cut, because she has no one else to talk too! The poor girl. I hope her mom reads the article and realizes how much stress her daughter is under, and what her stage mom act is doing to her!!

i have a history of cuttin, and its not something you can just quit...it takes time and you need all the friends and family you can get. Iv nevr seen camp rock but my lil sisters love it!she seems like an amazing girl thats going threw a lot of stuff...good luck Demi ill pray 4 u!

I was in Giant Eagle, and I look down and there was a big article heading that says, "DEMI IS CUTTING". I was in total shock! I kind of saw it coming thought after all the pressure and meeting her dad, and also she has kind of gone gothic, she wears dark clothes all the time and she wears dark makeup!
