DJ AM Dead at 36
Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein was found dead in his New York City apartment on Friday.
"The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear," a rep for the celebrity deejay said. However, it appears DJ AM's death was drug-related.
A crack pipe and prescription pills were found in DJ AM's apartment, an anonymous law enforcement official told the Associated Press. DJ AM's body was reportedly found shirtless after police broke down the door to his apartment when friends could not reach him.
DJ AM, who dated Nicole Richie and Mandy Moore, has battled drug addiction and survived a plane crash last September.
“Nicole is in shock and hasn't been able to stop crying since she heard the news!” a source tells Star of DJ AM's ex, who is just days away from giving birth to her second child with Joel Madden.
Meanwhile, other celeb friends have flocked to Twitter to express their sadness. Fellow deejay Samantha Ronson wrote, "Waiting for someone to say this isn't true." Lindsay Lohan said, "I can't believe this... I'm in shock. Why? Why? R.I.P. Adam."
John Mayer wrote, "We're supposed to lose our friends to time, at an age when we're ready to agree to the terms of having lived a long life. Not now." Ryan Seacrest lamented, "So sad the hear about Adam. A very kind and generous guy."

I'm sure he didn't do this intentionally. Sometimes we all need a dose of something to get us through what seems to us, to be a very distressed situation. Adam was no exception, in my opinion he must have felt truly alone, heartbroken, and depressed in order to make a decision, to use drugs again. Suicide, I just don't believe was his intention. And for those of you who have nothing nice to say, keep your offensive, negative comment's to yourselves.

He/she who has not sined, cast the first stone! No-one on this earth can do this deed. DJ AM was a human being and he should be respected in death as well as in the life he lived. Those stupid people making such harsh remarks will one day regret those remarks because, they know not what lies ahead for them. "Have a compassionate heart" his family and friends (and those who didn't have a personal relationship with him, such as myself) are grieving his departure.

There will come a time when we all must depart from this world of superfical beings. It doesn't matter to me how he died, my heart still feels sadness. DJ AM's soul is resting with the angels that kept him safe for 36 years, he will truly be missed. My prayers and condolences to the Goldstein family. Now, let's all be kind and loving to each other because we will never know when our final resting day will come.

foremost strenght and a speedy recovery to all involved. It get harder for humans to be human with vision of 100x 10. when you see some one going beyond their limit and passes out please respond humanly and call for help then decide to stay or leave. think selflessly maybe it could have been kept him alive.

it's been going on for generations...stars having so much money they have nothing else to do with it so they start buying drugs. A person only needs so much $. It's tragic that this happened but once a month u hear someone else dying because of drugs.

I feel more sorry for his family and friends. He was given another chance on this Earth, and he threw it away.
