Farrah's Son Redmond Says He's Still Grieving

November 19, 2009

Farrah Fawcett's only son Redmond O'Neal told a judge Thursday that he is still trying to cope following his mom's death in June.

"I have been adjusting and still dealing with the death of my mother," Redmond said at a progress report hearing in L.A. The troubled 24-year-old has been serving time since April after a string of drug-related arrests. He's been sober for nine months and been living at a residential treatment center for about two months.

At the hearing, a spokesperson for the treatment center expressed concern over Redmond's level of participation. Judge Tynan said, "I thought this kid wanted to do something. He isn't working as hard as he can."

However, Redmond's lawyer tells RadarOnline.com, "Redmond is doing well, but as Judge Tynan pointed out, he needs to step it up." The judge ordered Redmond back to court on Dec. 2, and said, "The report better be glowing, or there will be consequences."

I wonder if this young man's life would have been different, had he been named John; I think it was very cruel of his parents to name him Redmond, heck, even Raymond would have been a nicer choice. I wonder why they did this to their son - I have a feeling it may have been Ryan's idea since all of his children have odd names and this is a lesson to the hollyweirdo's who name their kids after suburbs, fruit...and Pilot Inspektor???...Jason Lee should change his own name to Toilet Paper.

That Judge Tynan should have a lesson in empathy!!! He must be a very hard, callous man to not understand what Redmond must be going through; the Judge should be ashamed of himself.

I believe he is still grieving and hurt, that's why he should stay in treatment, until he works out all his problems. Two months may not be enough. You have to be strong enough to with stand the temptations when you walk out that door. Some people take longer than others.

He's 'grieving' because this drug pusher loser knows he let his Mother down, and broke her heart.

Sorry Farrah... you drew short straw with that moron.

He favors O'Neill too much to act like her. She was a lady and good at what she did - this kid seems to hate himself and portrays that to the world causing himself more trouble than he knows what to do with. Why wasnt the Dad, the Dad, in his early years - this attitude could have been nipped in the bud but Mom was busy supporting him.

it is so sad. all of ryan oneal's children have been drug users! what kind of example did ryan set for his children? perhaps antidepressants will help this young man. i hope so. you never get over the death of a parent or spouse or child. never. you have to cope.
