Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Rating:
Who's in it: Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, Paul Rudd
What's it about: After a bad breakup, a lovelorn guy (Segel) goes to a resort - where his ex (Bell) is vacationing with her new boyfriend.
Painfully funny: This is this year's answer to "Knocked Up": wild, witty, outrageously entertaining and filled with surprisingly heartfelt romance. Segel ("How I Met Your Mother") keeps the viewer off-balance with his unexpected reactions to sudden emotional shocks, while Bell is delicious as the former girlfriend who is nice on the surface but secretly as mean and selfish as we secretly suspect all movie stars are. Russell Brand is hilarious as Sarah's egotistic rock-star boyfriend, while Segel buddies Paul Rudd and Jonah Hill turn up in wonderful smaller roles. But this show belongs to Segel and Mila Kunis ("That 70s Show"), a resort employee he falls for. It's filled with wild jokes that make perfect water-cooler moments (including the fact that Segel isn't shy about being naked on camera - always good for a laugh).
