Gary Dourdan Pleads Guilty to Coke, Ecstasy Possession

Although Gary Dourdan denied that the drugs he was busted with were his, the actor pleaded guilty to counts of cocaine and Ecstasy possession earlier today.

This morning, the former CSI star was arraigned in Indio, Calif. answering charges stemming from his April 28 drug arrest in Palm Springs, Calif. Although he initially denied that the drugs were his — saying, "I am blessed that the sergeant realized that the luggage carrying whatever they found was not mine" — he entered a guilty plea to two counts (heroin charges were dropped) and in exchange must enter a drug treatment program.

"As a result of today's proceedings, Gary has been given diversion (a drug treatment program)," his lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, said outside the courthouse. "He very much regrets what happened and he's very embarrassed by what occurred, but he's looking forward to moving on and getting back to work... He is very grateful to the court for being understanding and giving him an opportunity to resolve the issue and move forward."

Gary faced up to almost four years in jail based on the charges filed against him. Instead, he'll get no prison time, but must complete a 16-class drug program.

The actor recently left his role on CSI, where he has been a regular since 2000.

Does Gary's punishment fit his crime? Tell us what you think.

I miss him in his role on C.S.I. I thought he did a great job. It"s to sad that he got caught up in the drug scene, but he's not the only one in Hollywood or in the world. If he can suceed in getting off drugs, Yeah Gary!
Look forward to seeing you back! All the best and good luck!

IF HE DOESN'T GET CAUGHT AGAIN THEN LET HIM STAY ON!

To me it is funny how just b/c they are in the "BIG" time they get away with crap that normal people wouldn't!

whatever. He is still a good actor no matter how bad he screwed up it didnt make it right that they fired him. And man what a way to be written off the show. The under sherriff? Couldnt they at least let someone else kill him off? Someone bigger and badder. Get lady heather in there to whip his skin off his body. That would be an interesting way to go. I will always like Gary Dourdan as an actor. Just because he screwed up doesnt mean that there is no hope for him to make a comeback somewhere.

I DONT THINK IT FITS IF ANYONE WHO WASNT A CELEB DID IT OH THEY WOULD BE LOCKED UP REALLY QUICK!!!!

well he is stupid, hope he doesn't screw up again

Save the prisons for the hard-core offenders; those like Gary with obvous drug addictions (but not selling to kids) need to be placed in drug treatment programs.
