In this new hospital drama, Jada Pinkett Smith stars as the head nurse at a Virginia hospital who is still coping with the death of her husband. Michael Vartan ("Alias") is her friend, the doctor who treated her husband - will there be sparks? There's not a lot new here: valiant nurses covering for golf-playing doctors and Smith as a savvy but empathetic boss who has to wrangle her nurses and play parent to a rebellious teen. And, oh yeah, she's a widow. Smith's plucky spirit and winning smile save the day, turning plot clichés into engrossing drama just by throwing herself into this drama whole-heartedly. This pilot makes it worth a second look.
