Heath Ledger's Love Child?

March 31, 2008

Does Matilda Ledger have a big sister?

The feud among the late Heath Ledger's family is getting more dramatic by the day. The latest? Heath's uncle says the actor may have fathered a secret love child.

On Sunday, Heath's uncle Hadyn Ledger — who has been feuding with Heath's father, Kim Ledger, over Heath's estate — said that when Heath was 17, he had an affair with a 25-year-old woman who is thought to have discovered she was pregnant with a daughter after their relationship ended.

"There is a very real possibility that Heath was the father," Heath's uncle Hadyn Ledger told Australia's Daily Telegraph.

Another family source added: "She had the baby. Everyone lived under the assumption that she was the daughter of the mother's boyfriend and that is how she has been brought up." The woman is now married with a young family.

If this child is indeed Heath's biological child, it would further split his multi-million dollar estate, which — in paperwork filed in 2003, before he met Michelle Williams and had daughter Matilda — was left to his father, mother, sister and half sisters. Though Kim Ledger subsequently said that Michelle and Matilda would be "taken care of."

In January, Heath died alone in his New York apartment from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. After his will was filed, it exposed a bitter family feud between his father and his father's estranged brothers — including Haydn — who accused Kim of mismanaging their grandfather's estate over 20 years earlier.

Do you think Heath has a love child? Should the little girl's identity become public? Weigh in.

Brenda: If a DNA test is done what if its not his child should she still be as you said "Acknowledged as Heath's child", or would it be better if she knew her real father. It would be better for her to know her real father. If it was Heath's don't you think that he would have taken care of her just the same as his daughter Matilda?
-- Stephanie

maybe the mother of this "love child" doesnt want her daughter be involved.ask the mothers opinion.

YES, A DNA TEST SHOULD BE DONE. AFTER THAT, THE CHILD SHOULD BE ACKNOWLKEDGED AS HEATH'S CHILD JUST AS MATILDA IS. AND I MUST SAY THE WILL THAT WAS WRITTEN BEFORE HEATH HAD A DAUGHTER SHOULD BE NULL AND VOID AND EVERYTHING SHOULD GO TO HIS CHILD OR CHILDREN, NOT KIM LEDGER AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS.
-- BRENDA

I think a DNA test should be done. That will prove it, once and for all. Too bad that wasn't done while Heath was alive..
-- Judith

HONESTLY IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CHILD IS HIS. IF HE AND THIS WOMAN CHOSE TO KEEP IT A SECRET THEN THAT IS THEIR CHOICE. JUST LET THE MAN REST IN PEACE. ALSO WHATS DONE IN THE DARK WILL SOON COME TO THE LIGHT.
-- SHEENA

Kim Ledger is a thief! None of that money should go to him, it should all go to Heath's children.
-- Ava

how can you people keep saying "that is what Heath would have wanted"? how do you know..oh yeah you were all his best friend right? my gosh leave the guy alone.
-- get over yourselves

I don't understand why he had not fixed his will to name Matilda. She has been alive for 2 years. And if he knew of the other child why had she not been mentioned in the will? She was already alive at the time
-- Shannon

I think this should be handled by the family only and leave the media out of it. Heath would of wanted it that way, his family has been through enough.

Everyone needs to erase their own egos from this tragic puzzle and let Heath rest in peace. If this supposed "love child" does actually exist, her mother has chosen to remain anonymous and should continue to do so for the sake of privacy. It seems that nothing is sacred.
