Exclusive: Heather Makes Play for Brothers & Sisters Role
Heather Locklear is determined to get her life back on track. The 47-year-old, who was just charged with DUI, has been lobbying the producers of ABC's Brothers and Sisters and the show's star, Sally Field, for a recurring guest role.
"Heather is a huge fan of the show but also believes that getting back to work will keep her clean and give her a new lease on life," a source tells Star exclusively. "She's on her best behavior when she's on a show."
Richie Sambora's ex may have some convincing to do. For the past year, her personal life, not her acting, has been grabbing headlines. In June, she checked into rehab for four weeks to battle anxiety and depression. Then in September, she was arrested on suspicion of DUI and now faces up to six months in jail. But she "has been totally clean since and is doing very well," says the source.
And Heather's been busy trying to rehab her image. During a Dec. 3 appearance on The Tonight Show to promote her Lifetime movie Flirting with Forty, she told host Jay Leno that "I wouldn't have done anything differently because, here I am today, happy and healthy — and lessons are learned. I learned some hard lessons."
