Hercule Poirot: Cat Among the Pigeons

By Mashall Fine

Rating:

Sunday, June 21, 9PM, PBS

Detective Hercule Poirot (David Suchet) returns in the first of several Agatha Christie adaptations on "Masterpiece Theater: Mystery!" Poirot is on hand at a British girls' school to present an award - and must use his deductive skills to solve the killing of the school's mean-spirited phys-ed teacher, skewered in the gym with a javelin.

Because she was such a witch, many people had a motive to kill her - or is there something else going on? Beautifully shot and impeccably acted, the film bubbles to life everytime Suchet - with his fussy handlebar mustache and prissy accent - takes the screen.
