James Gandolfini Hospitalized!
James Gandolfini has tummy trouble. The former Sopranos star is recovering at home after undergoing an abdominal operation, Star has learned exclusively. Dr. James McGinty performed the keyhole surgery at St. Luke's Roosevelt hospital in Manhattan on Tuesday. His rep called the operation on the 46-year-old star a "minor procedure," adding, "He is already home." So what exactly is keyhole surgery? Also known as laparoscopic surgery, it's a surgical technique in which small incisions are made — as compared to larger incisions needed in traditional surgical procedures. The key element in laparoscopic surgery is the use of a laparoscope: a telescopic rod lens system, usually connected to a camera that is inserted into the body.
