Jennifer Hudson's Bro-in-Law to Stay in Prison

November 10, 2008

The convicted felon questioned in the killings of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew is staying behind bars.

During a hearing in Illinois earlier today, authorities decided there's probable cause to hold William Balfour after a witness reported seeing him with a gun matching the description of the .45 caliber weapon used to kill Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson and Julian King last month.

No one has been charged in the shootings, but authorities have called Balfour — who's the estranged husband of Jennifer's sister, Julia Hudson — a "person of interest." He was out on parole for a 1999 attempted murder conviction at the time of the murders.

William will remain in jail at least until Dec. 3 when he has a hearing before the full Illinois Prisoner Review Board.

It's good to keep William as a suspect in your head, but I still can't rule out a possibility of it can be another person at interest too.
