Sneak Peek: Jodie Sweetin's Bombshell Tell-All!

October 22, 2009

Jodie Sweetin played sweet little Stephanie Tanner on Full House from 1987 to 1995. But once the cameras stopped rolling, she was hardly the girl next door!

For the first time ever, Jodie is telling the truth about her sordid life full of drug use, overdoses, drunk driving and more in her upcoming memoir, Unsweetined. "I wanted to prove that I wasn’t the girl from Full House, that I could get more trashed than everyone else," she writes. Star has all the juicy details!

Jodie only has happy memories of her time on the Full House set. But once the show was cancelled she struggled to find her way. "Being the real me wasn't interesting enough," Jodie writes.

Before her first year of high school was out, 14-year-old Jodie found new confidence —at the bottom of a wine glass. At costar Candace Cameron's 1994 wedding, she got drunk for the first time and passed out in the restroom. The next day, she realized, "I was Jodie Sweetin and I was an alcoholic."

From there, she graduated quickly to pot, cocaine, Ecstacy and crystal meth. Throughout short-lived marriages and stints in rehab, she continued using — and even drove drunk with her infant daughter, Zoie, in the car!

For the full story of how her life spiraled out of control — including the night she says she got wasted with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen — pick up the Nov. 2 issue of Star TODAY!

Talk Back: Are you surprised to hear that Jodie grew up to be a serious drug user?

Read the entire book yesterday afternoon. You won't believe how many drugs this girl did, nor how long. The only part that makes me skeptical is how she has only been sober for a few months. It doesn't really sound like she will be successful.

How does she get away with all her lies. She lied in so many interviews & even in court documents. I can't believe how she gets away with slandering her husband. She says she's clean & sober now! Wow, she does a mother & daughter proud!!
-- Lillie

poor girl, she grew up on tv, so i dont blame her for needing an outlet.
-- CM

When all else falls cuz you suck as an actress...write a book about being a meth head who lied to her first husband and neglected her kid...that will put you back in the spotlight!
-- Tiff

-- anonymous

of course not its what happens when child stars are treated as child adults...to much to fast and no supervision...she is not a bad person just a person caught up in a world that is much different then the norm....hang in there jodi you will make it
-- Lisa

I think that people should leave her alone she made mistakes in her life who has not. I think that she should get help so she does not hurt herself or her young daughter.
-- Amy

Of course she has an upcoming memoir. She obviously needs money and all the saps that buy her book of revelations are paying for her drugs. Once a drug addict always a drug addict.
-- Thorne Maxwell

this magazine needs to stop making these things up, just so ppl. will buy the magazine. get a life!
