John Mayer to Land Wife and TV Show
It's a busy time for John Mayer!
In the Jan. 26 issue of Star — on sale now — we report that the singer is giving his gal pal Jennifer Aniston an official engagement ring for her Feb. 11 birthday.
"Money's no object for John," an insider tells Star of the bauble. "He didn't want to buy something that anyone else had, so he sketched it and is having it custom-made."
Meanwhile, John's professional life is booming as well as he's in talks to create a music and variety show that will air on CBS.
Earlier today CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler confirmed that a project is under development and an agreement is near at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles. She didn't provide further details.
Late last year, Rosie O'Donnell made a failed attempt to launch a variety show. Here's hoping John has better luck (and maybe Jen as a guest star)!

Jen is sad, sad, sad...and naive if she thinks Mayer's gonna heel. "He's a rare one" alright...The guy's even more pathetic with his publicity grabbing antics. She is gorgeous, she's rich...despite all her flops...and she still can't shut up about Brad and Angelina. Leave them alone, stop acting like you're 13, and have some gratitude.
