Judge Denies Nick Hogan's Request For House Arrest

It looks like Nick Hogan isn't leaving jail anytime soon! On Tuesday, a judge denied a motion from Nick's lawyer asking that the reality star be placed on house arrest until July 27, his 18th birthday, or moved into the minimum-security lockup.

Nick, son of wrestler Hulk Hogan, has been in solitary confinement since being sentenced to 8 months in a Florida jail on May 9. He pleaded no contest to one count of reckless driving stemming from a car crash last August that left his passenger seriously injured. At only 17, Nick is too young to join the general prison population.

In court documents filed Friday, Nick's lawyer argued, "This situation creates an unbearable anxiety for a minor in solitary confinement. This sort of confinement substantially amounts to cruel and unusual punishment for a juvenile and is not warranted for a non-violent first offender serving a probation sentence."

The Pinella County Sheriff's Office contends Nick's "current classification, housing and treatment...are proper."

Update:
June 6, 2008
Two days after his request to be transferred out of solitary confinement was denied, Nick Hogan has been moved into a communal cell. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the move comes as the result of "routine and ongoing assessments of inmate population and classification."

I hope you drop the soap a lot Nick!....or.....

Wake up in your cell with a big ding dong in your mouth! JERK!

Correct me if I am wrong but wasnt Nick drunk or drinking when he raced the car that landed his friend in the hospital? Wether or not you like it doesnt matter but Nicks friend is a victim. Nick is bitching because he doesnt like prison or WE and he needs to shut the hell up. His friend is brain damaged and can never walk again. WHo do you think will win the victim vote here? I could care less if his mom and dad were divorcing or not, it has nothing to do with what Nick did and to try and act like it does is dumb. Nick did what he did because he could not because his parents are divorcing.Nice soap remark Blah. That was a good one.

I think everyone needs to get off him. Yea he shouldnt get the royal treatment just because hes a celebrity. BUT his friend knew exactly what he was gettin into when they were racin, he did it willingly so its not all Nicks fault. Im not trying to justify what he did but still that other kid was there willingly. And his family is going through a divorce issue and a lot of families do and I dont know too many divorces that are happy. Leave them alone.

I hope that Nick drops the soap in prison and gets a real lesson on reality! JERK! The whole family seem like complete losers to me

Him and his whole family need to shut up. He is in jail what the hell did he think was going to happen he was going to have milk and cookies? I am tired of hearing about his belly aching. He needs to man up, grow up, and shut up. His friend is in a hospital bed and may never walk again and that little whiny baby is crying because he is scared or whatever. Unless he is the prison bunkie than I dont want to hear it. He doesn't have it that bad he is just a wuss.

He deserves to stay in jail. So what if he is afraid. The guy he hit is afraid he may be a vegetable for life for someone's stupidity!

He shows no empathy now & the odds of someone with that kind of ego & lack of concern for others getting any better is pretty low. Really , really hope he finds something in his heart while he's in there. It looks pretty vacant right now.

He is too young and irresponsible to be able to race cars and that is his parents fault for not teaching him the proper tools to be an adult. He may be in prison for 8 months but his "friend" is a prisoner in his own body for the rest of his life. For Nick to call him "A negative person" just shows that he isn't sorry for what happened and his parents should be ashamed that they raised such a complete a-hole! Hulk & Linda are complete failures as parents by teaching their children that making and spending money is more important than being a decent human being. Shame on you both!! I hope we never have to see any of them on t.v. again and that they lose everything & are forced to live in the real world for the rest of their lives
