Kiefer Sutherland head-butted a NYC designer in a "vicious, violent, unprovoked assault" at the Met Costume Gala after party Monday night in front of Brooke Shields, according to eyewitnesses.
Kiefer was chatting with Brooke when her friend, Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough, bumped into her, according New York's Daily News. After a heated exchange, Kiefer then head-butted Jack, witnesses say.
Jack, whose rep called the altercation a "vicious, violent, unprovoked assault," reportedly suffered a cut on his nose. "Anyone who knows Jack McCollough knows that he would not hurt a fly," the rep added.
Police are now investigating the incident and Jack is quoted as telling authorities that Kiefer "was drunk and obnoxious and wouldn't back down or be logical."
A rep for Brooke says, "Nothing happened to her ... Jack did nothing inappropriate. It's not clear what caused Kiefer to do what he did."
Kiefer's lawyer had no comment. He is currently on probation in L.A. for a DUI.
