Madonna: Lourdes Wants An Oscar... or a Clothing Line!
Earlier this month we saw Madonna's eldest, Lourdes Leon, make her video debut in her mom's new single "Celebration." Now her famous mama talks about how the 12-year-old likes to bust-a-move — as well as her acting ambitions.
In the hot video, the mini fashionista — whose dad is personal trainer Carlos Leon — can be seen channeling her inner Michael Jackson and break-dancing with Madge's dancers.
"She hangs out with the dancers a lot," Madonna says in a new interview with Billboard's Larry Flick. "She's a dancer, herself. The video is about the celebration of music and dance. There's an improvisational moment when we're all in a circle and each dancer does their specialty or a special move that they do well. She wanted to do hers, so she did.
Despite getting her groove on in the video, Madge says Lourdes has dreams of acting or a fashion career, not singing — and she's down with that.
"I don't think she wants to be a singer," she says. "I think she wants to be an actress... I'm fine with it, as long as she finishes school, and takes it seriously. She also plays piano, and she's really into clothes and fashion and style. She can go in any direction. She's got a lot of diverse interests right now. We'll see. I'm not pushing anything."
One thing Lourdes has mastered? The art of being a big sister.
"She's super-sister," Madonna says. "She's amazing with the little ones. She has the typical relationship with her brother, Rocco. They're like "I love you"/"I hate you" every five minutes. But with the two little ones, she's great. She's amazing. Very protective."
