Madonna & Lourdes to Debut Material Girl Clothing Line

They don't call Madonna the Material Girl for nothin'!

The entertainer is launching a clothing line — for juniors — named after her 1985 megahit song and nickname. And in between globe-trotting with her famous mum — er, mom, now that they've ditched London for NY — aspiring fashionista Lourdes Leon will be helping with the line.

Talk about a 13-year-old girl's dream come true!

The Material Girl clothes collection will launch exclusively at Macy's in August — you know, when it's time for the all-important event that is back to school shopping! The price points for the clothes will range between $12 to $40 and there will also be shoes, jewelry and handbags.

“Lourdes has an incredible sense of style and her point of view on fashion has definitely been an inspiration for the line,” said Jeff Gennette, chief merchandising officer at Macy’s Inc.

The clothes will be produced through Iconix — the company behind brands like Candie's, Badgley Mischka and Roca Wear. Madge plans to further her relationship with the co. by collaborating on a beauty line and fragrance in 2011.

Perhaps Mercy will be old enough to be a perfume tester by then?

Yall are so rude. She is 13 years old and it is good that she is trying to learn independence at an old age. There are too many kids out there who solely depend on mommy and daddy to support them. put them through school, pay for their clothes,cars,etc. I consider those types SPOILED ROTTEN BRATS. So, good for you Lourdes!!

Honestly Madonna -- Let her be a teenager. There is NO way that you can say that you were happy when you were her age. Let her live. You've done good so far, why break the pattern.

I just pray she doesn't turn into Paris, or the Twins. After their movies and clothing line, they hit a few lines of their own.

I wouldn't buy a stitch of thread from the Olson Twins Line.

Wow, can't believe a girl so young is getting such a break, all because she's Madonna's kid - the general public has loads of great designers who can't even get a break - really unfair - can't believe Macy's is giving her line a shot.
