Mackenzie Phillips Reveals Long-Term Consensual Sexual Relationship with her Father
Mackenzie Phillips has always been forthcoming about her drug addiction, but she drops a huge bombshell in her new tell-all book: She slept with her own father while she was under the influence and went on to have a long-term sexual relationship with him.
The former child star will appear on Oprah tomorrow to discuss the shocking revelation that she details in her new book High On Arrival. She writes that she was 19 and starring on One Day at a Time when her dad John Phillips -- from the '60s band Mamas and the Papas -- slept with her on the night before she was to marry Jeff Sessler.
"On the eve of my wedding, my father showed up, determined to stop it," writes Mackenzie, who was already a heavy drug user. " I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on his bed... I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father. Had this happened before? I don't know. All I can say is it was the first time I was aware of it."
Their sexual relationship continued, she reveals in the book. She traveled with him and his new band, they did drugs together went to rehab together and -- shockingly -- even talked about running away together.
"One night Dad said, 'We could just run away to a country where no one would look down on us," she writes. "There are countries where this is an accepted practice... He was completely delusional. No, I thought we're going to hell for this."
In Mackenzie's book, which goes on sale this week, she also talks about how Mick Jagger attempted to seduce her.

If this is true, 50% of the responsibility lies with her also. She was not an innocent child taken against her will. She was a grown woman who willingly went along with this for 10 years ! She knew what she was doing, and to come out now all these years later, especially when he cannot defend himself is not right. This should be a private matter between her and her family and hopefully a Doctor. This girl should be helping herself first, before going on Oprah and trying to pretned to be a Poster Child for supposedly all the daughters out there . . .I'm quite sure not too many of them continued doing it consentually ! Plus she has a grown son . .. no real mother would put her son or her family thourgh this public scandal . .except if you want to make money selling books. Is she under a Doctors care ? Has she actually tried to help any abused women ? Are proceeds from the book going to help abused women ? I think she is just using that platform to gain more attention . . because she sure isn't getting any attention any other way.
