Report: Madonna & Guy Ritchie Reach Settlement
It's official: Madonna and Guy Ritchie will be on all the year-in-review celebrity divorce lists.
The singer and director, who announced they were divorcing in October after nearly eight years of marriage, will be granted a preliminary divorce decree at the High Court in London on Friday, reports the BBC. Then after about six weeks, the divorce will be finalized.
According to the British press, Madge and Guy reached an agreement over their fortune and their kids, Rocco, 8, and David, 3. (Lourdes, 12, is from Madonna's previous relationship with trainer Carlos Leon.) London's Evening Standard says that the singer will keep most of her estimated $500 million; Rocco and David will split time between the U.S. and London.
"[Guy] could have hugely boosted his bank balance and set himself up for life, but he already feels he has enough money," a pal told U.K.'s Times. "He also didn't want the whole thing dragging on in the public... His priority was the children's future."
Madonna and Guy, who were introduced by Sting and his wife Trudie Styler, married in 2000. Since this past summer, Madonna has been linked with Alex Rodriguez, but has gone to great lengths — like reportedly traveling places in separate helicopters — to keep the relationship under wraps.

It breaks my heart to see a family with children torn apart for whatever reasons. It's bad enough for the natural children, but for those who were adopted and those from other marriages who had already separated from their original families, it has to be double heartbreak.

If Madonna sucks, why is she still filling stadiums around the world? Give Caesar what belongs to Caesar. People just want to hate on people who are very successful so that they can feel better about their unsuccessful lives.

Guy Richie seems to be an okay guy. Madonna has moved on. She has her next victim lined up.Madonna believes all the lies that her people she pays feel obligated to tell her how wonderful she is. Guy Ritchie probably didn't feed into all that crap! So it was so long for him.
