Matt Lauer Recovers from Surgery Following Bike Accident
Matt Lauer's bike injury landed him in the OR!
Following the news of his bicycle accident, the Today show host underwent surgery to repair a separated shoulder and is expected back at work later this week.
On Tuesday's edition of Today, news anchor Ann Curry said that Matt's operation went "very well." Soon after, the executive producer of Today, Jim Bell, called into Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show and said Matt was in good spirits despite the injury and will return to work on Thursday or Friday.
"He's shaking it off like the trooper he is," said Bell.
Matt, who was wearing his helmet, was riding his bike in Long Island, NY, over the weekend when he swerved to avoid a deer and flipped over the handlebars.
