Star Exclusive: Melanie Griffith In Rehab!
Melanie Griffith has checked into a rehab facility, her rep confirms to Star.
"She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy. This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago," Melanie’s publicist, Robin Baum, tells Star of the actress' stay at Cirque Lodge in Utah.
But an insider tells Star that this stint in rehab is a bid to save her marriage. "She's working with the counselors on getting control of her demons."
The 52-year-old movie star has battled addictions to drugs and booze since she was a teenager and she's had several previous stints in rehab. But her latest fall off the wagon is the last straw for her husband of 13 years, Antonio Banderas.
"The reason Melanie checked in was her husband was demanding that she get clean and sober," another source tells Star. "He told her that if she didn't get the help she needed it would be the end of their marriage."
According to a third source, "Melanie's struggling right now, but Antonio has been checking in on her as much as he is allowed, making sure she gets back on her feet. Without Antonio in her life, I honestly believe Melanie would be dead."

Sobriety doesn't seem to be something she will ever accomplish. I don't think her husband is alcholic/drug addicted.Why does he stay with her?

I'm reading the posts below and it kills me that people cannot stick to the subject..that being that Melanie is in rehab. It is not about how ugly you think she is or that her husband should leave her. I have seen Antonio recently and he is aging just like everyone else. No wonder this world is like it is when people judge others based on how someone looks instead of how they are inside.

We all have skeletons in our closets. Most of us are burdend by whatever insecurities we may have. Melanie is no different. Let's have compassion, people, her husband obviously does. Who are we to judge so harshly?

She is clingy, needy, jealous,sick. I cannot stand the woman. I'm really disappointed Antonio put up with her for all these years. What kind of woman was he married to before. How can they be happy, she was a homewrecker and commited adultery with a married man. She's afraid someone else will do to her why she did to Antonio's first wife. This woman is sad. Okay, by the comments that Ive read its not about the way Melanie looks or her age, its in Melanie why she does what she does but,she has to get help for herself and it shouldnot be about keeping her marriage together. Melanie needs to start with herself word to the wise!!!!!!!!!!
