GREY'S STAR T.R. KNIGHT FIGHTS BACK

January 17, 2007

Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight is speaking out about the Golden Globes press room debacle in which his co-star, Isaiah Washington, denied calling Knight a "faggot." On Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Knight says Washington did in fact use the homophobic slur onset in October during an argument. "He referred to me as a faggot," Knight confirmed to Ellen DeGeneres. "Everyone heard it."

On Monday, Washington told reporters in the Golden Globes press room, "I did not call T.R. a faggot. Never happened, never happened." Washington later defended his awkward outburst to Access Hollywood saying, "There is no way I could do anything so vile, and so horrible, not only to a castmate, but to a fellow human being. It did not happen."

As for the press room denial, Knight told DeGeneres, "I don't know what to say about it but it's pretty bad."

Another Grey's castmember, Katherine Heigl, sided with Team Knight. She told Access Hollwood, "I'm going to be really honest right now, (Washington) needs to just not speak in public. Period. I'm sorry, that did not need to be said, I'm not okay with it."
