Halle Berry Admits She Attempted Suicide
Monster's Ball star Halle Berry reveals her inner monster, confessing to Parade magazine that she tried to commit suicide after her first marriage failed.
The 40-year-old starlet says she tried to gas herself when she and her then-husband, Atlanta Braves baseball star David Justice, split. Luckily, she came to her senses at the last minute.
"I was sitting in my car, and I knew the gas was coming when I had an image of my mother finding me," says Berry. "She sacrificed so much for her children, and to end my life would be an incredibly selfish thing to do. It was all about a relationship. My sense of worth was so low," Berry says. "I promised myself I would never be a coward again."
In the magazine, Berry also fesses up about her rocky relationship with sex-addicted ex-husband Eric Benet. "[It was] really horrific ... We were in sex rehab after one year. I wish I had left then, but I was putting everyone's needs before mine," she says.
With two failed marriages under her belt, it seems the only man that will stay in Berry's life is her Oscar. She recently told InStyle, "I will never, never get married again."
