Angelina's Brother Says Shiloh Is Named After Him
James Haven, the brother of Angelina Jolie, revealed the origin of the name of her and partner Brad Pitt's baby Shiloh in an interview with Grazia magazine.
The actor said the name was originally meant for him. "At the last second, my parents gave me [the name] Haven instead. So it was very cool when Brad and Angie came to me and said: 'We're thinking of names and our favorite is Shiloh. We know that was your original name, so would that be Ok?'. "I was almost in tears — I was so honored."
Haven, 33, says he has babysat for his nephew, Maddox, and neice, Zahara, while Angelina gave birth to Shiloh at the hospital. "The two children were so excited and we all sat together and held hands, then Mad got really excited. When Angie was pregnant, Mad kept pointing to her belly and when Angie asked: 'Who's in there, Mad?' he would say: 'Sister'. Maddox is terrific with Zahara and Shiloh. There is no jealousy or rivalry in that family. They are the happiest group I have ever seen."
The Jolie-Pitt family certainly has a lot to celebrate, but Haven says there have been many obstacles to overcome. "Zahara's mother died of AIDS and so did her father. After the adoption, Angie had her tested but there was a moment when the result was unknown. If Zahara had it, Angie made the decision that of course she still would have taken her and raised her. That shows love beyond love."
