LINDSAY LOHAN ARRESTED!
Lindsay Lohan was arrested early Tuesday morning, July 24, in Santa Monica for DUI and cocaine possession, authorities confirmed.
Lohan, 21, was booked on two misdemeanor charges of suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license and two felony charges of possession of cocaine and transport of a narcotic, said SAPD's Sgt. Shane Talbot.
According to police, Lohan was pulled over after authorities spotted her car, a white Denali SUV, chasing another vehicle, a black Cadillac Escalade SUV. Passengers in the Escalade called police at 1:30 am to say they were being chased. Police caught up with both vehicles at Santa Monica's Civic Center and where they said Lohan was engaged in a "heated argument" with the female driver of the Escalade who is an acquaintance of hers.
"The driver who called police turned out to be the mother of Lindsay Lohan's personal assistant," said Officer Alex Padilla. The assistant had just quit hours before, the officer said. "Just prior to the chase — but I'm not sure exactly how much time prior — the personal assistant had quit."
Cops conducted a field sobriety test on Lohan and her blood alcohol level was between .12 and .13, well over the .08 legal limit in California. Authorities searched Lohan, who resisted the field sobriety test, and found cocaine in her pants pocket.
Lohan was arrested and released on $25,000 bail.
The actress recently completed a stint in rehab and was voluntarily wearing an alcohol-monitoring bracelet. In May, Lohan was arrested for DUI after a car crash in Beverly Hills. She was just formally booked on misdemeanor charges on July 19.
Lindsay's Getting Help!
Lindsay Lohan's lawyer has released a statement saying:
"Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease. Since Lindsay transitioned to outpatient care, she has been monitored on a SCRAM bracelet and tested daily in order to support her sobriety. Throughout this period, I have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies. Unfortunately, late yesterday I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care."
Lindsay's family members are also speaking out. Her father, ex-con Michael Lohan told TMZ he is partly to blame for Lohan's problems. "I want to withdraw everything — court wise — sit down with Dina as Lindsay's parents and figure out how to help her. Lindsay can't do this on her own ... when we were together, none of this was happening."
Lindsay's paternal grandmother Marilyn Lohan told 24Sizzler.com, "We love her and we're here for her. She can turn it around."
