Lindsay Update: Friends & Family Speak Out
Lindsay Lohan's friends and family have been on full-time clean-up duty ever since Tuesday's melodrama in which the starlet was arrested for DUI — a mere 11 days after she exited rehab.
According to Lindsay's camp, the I Know Who Killed Me star was having a small get-together when she fell off the wagon and began drinking. As for the cocaine found in Lindsay's pants pocket while being searched by police officers, her camp tells Entertainment Tonight that the coke was not Lindsay's because she was wearing someone else's pants.
Lohan's uncle Chris Sullivan has also been defending her actions to the New York Post. Lohan's assistant Tarin Graham, "is a problem individual and Lindsay was trying to help her out,” says Sullivan, about the altercation between Lindsay and her second assistant that led to Lindsay's drunken car chase early Tuesday morning in Santa Monica. "She [Lindsay] may well have not been driving the car. This girl and her mother are letting Lindsay take the fall, but hopefully the truth will come out! That would get rid of most of the charges."
Ali Lohan, Linsay's little sister, has also come to the rescue, defending her big sis in an e-mail to 24sizzler.com. In the e-mail, Ali blames their father for Lindsay's behavior and the consequences of fame. "My father is telling all lies to people and saying he was such a great dad and was always there for us, my father was never there for us," says Ali. "I've wanted to say this for so long and get this out there and let everyone know that our family is like a normal family but of course we are put under a microscope because of lindsay's fame." [sic]
Paris Hilton is also offering a few words of advice to her old party friend. "I feel like everyone as a human being on this Earth has a responsibility to give back and make this world a better place," the recently jailed hotel heiress told The Insider, while boasting about how she recently visited a bunch of premature infants and young cancer victims at the Children's Hospital in L.A. "We can all make a difference."
Star readers are also weighing on Lohan's troubles. According to a Star poll, 80 percent of readers believe Lindsay is to blame for her current situation, not her parents. Also, 91 percent of readers think Lindsay should go to jail, and 80 percent feel she needs to leave Hollywood in order to save her life.
