Paris Hilton Sues Hallmark Over Card

September 10, 2007

Greeting cards are designed to cheer people up, but some recent cards had the opposite effect on Paris Hilton! The heiress is suing Hallmark Cards Inc. for using her likeness, as well as her trademarked catchphrase, "That's hot," without her consent in cards joking about her smarts and jail time.

Hilton filed the lawsuit on Sept. 6, and is seeking unspecified damages to be determined at trial. In its defense, Hallmark says the cards are parodies, which are protected under fair use law.
