Brangelina Teams Up With Bill Clinton For Global Initiative!

September 27, 2007

Can two people save the world? At least one Hollywood couple thinks so. America's favorite globe-trotting do-gooders, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, met with Bill Clinton on Wednesday at the Sheraton New York for a global conference to help the world's needy. At the conference, Jolie and Pitt announced they are planning to raise millions to educate kids in war-torn countries and to rebuild New Orleans.

According to the New York Post, Jolie said she wants to reach the children that have been forced out of their countries, like the thousands of Iraqis who moved to Lebanon or Syria, and the kids from Columbia who are now in Costa Rica. One program she is working on will help over 150,000 displaced children get an education through "distance learning," which works with children through the use of radio, TV, laptops and cellphones.

In an effort to encourage people to help rebuild New Orleans, Pitt announced that he is willing to spend $10 million, matching funds to build 150 affordable homes in New Orleans' Ninth Ward.
