Update: Jamie Lynn Spears Pregnant At 16!

December 19, 2007

Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old sister of Britney Spears, is pregnant! The Zoey 101 star says she's carrying her 19-year-old boyfriend Casey Aldridge's baby and is 12 weeks along. Jamie Lynn called the pregnancy "a big shock" and said she has no immediate plans to marry Aldridge. Jamie Lynn plans to seek help from her mom, Lynne Spears, who said she could hardly believe the news. The surprise pregnancy has also put Lynne's book about raising her children on hold. "The book is delayed indefinitely. It's delayed, not cancelled," a spokeswoman for the publisher says.

Meanwhile, Jamie Lynn's big sister Britney Spears — who's embroiled in a custody battle over her own two kids — seemed surprised to hear the news. When asked about her Jamie Lynn's pregnancy by the paparazzi as she left a shopping trip on Tuesday night, Brit responded, "My sister's not pregnant!"

Nickelodeon released a statement about their star's baby news, saying, "We respect Jamie Lynn's decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn's well being."

Jamie Lynn's pregnancy leaves everyone wondering, didn't Lynn Spears ever give her girls The Talk? Is Lynne an even worse mother than Britney? Click here for more.
