Juno Star Teams With Drew Barrymore
Juno actress Ellen Page is trading her onscreen baby bump for elbow pads to play a hell-raising roller derby queen! "I can't wait to kick ass on wheels!" she told Variety.
The movie, Whip It!, also marks the directorial debut of actress and producer Drew Barrymore. "I've been working toward the goal of directing my entire life," Drew said. This "is a story that really spoke to me."
Ellen Page has confidence in her future director. "I really admire how Drew constantly challenges herself as an artist. She's proven herself as an actress and a producer, and I have no doubt she'll bring great vision and creativity to the director's chair."
The $10-million film will begin shooting in Texas this summer.
