John Ritter Lawsuit: Docs Cleared Of Negligence

March 14, 2008

Two doctors have been cleared in the wrongful death lawsuit brought by the late actor John Ritter's family. Ritter's wife and four children alleged two doctors acted negligently which led to his 2003 death from a torn aorta. The two doctors, a cardiologist and a radiologist, were cleared by a California jury Friday, March 14, and not ordered to pay damages.

Ritter was told in 2001 to follow up on a body scan procedure which revealed he had calcification in three coronary arteries. Ritter didn't follow the order.

John Ritter was so awesome. His wife and kids are so wonderful to go through all of this to clear things up. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wonderful family. John is in a better place now-believe it!

This is why medical care cost so much, Frivolous lawsuits! Its terrible he died, I was a big fan!I am a big fan of Amy to. However, the fact that the justice lets anybody waste our taxpayer money by even allowing an aortic aneurysm into court is why doctors and hospitals pay thousands of dollars in malpractice insurance, bringing the costs of medicine up. In Canada it probably would not have gone to court

When are the doctors that Amy Yasbeck falsely accused going to file suit against her for damages? She should have to pay for her selfish greed and playing with other peoples lives, as she has. John Ritter was a good man and would never have wanted her to do this. She never cared for him. This bogus lawsuit was proof of that. True justice will not have been done until she has to pay for damages to the lives she so coldy and carelessly disrupted.

Amy,
You got exactly what you deserved...nothing. How dare you play on the sympathy of the public from dear John's memory for selfish gain AND how dare you disprupt innocent people's lives and reputations for selfish gain. If you need money, GET A JOB!

Less than 1% of people survive a acute aortic dissection. The doctors did the best they could since it mimics a heart attack

IF HE DIDN'T FOLLOW UP AS ORDERED, THEN HOW IS THAT ANYONE'S FAULT BUT HIS OWN? IT'S SAD THAT IT HAPPENED BUT IT WAS HIS RESPONSIBLITY.

Acting ability comes in very handy on a witness stand.

Guys,

He died of a dissecting aortic aneurysm. The odds of surviving that are minimal. I'm amazed and disheartened they got any damages in the first place.
